Commercial Relocation Faq'S

To get a head start on your next office move, check out the following commercial relocation FAQs:

  • How far before the actual move should we begin planning it?
It is always recommended to begin planning a commercial move as early as you can. Office moves tend to include numerous details and require a great deal of organization and preparation, and it is therefore preferable to begin planning them in advance. Ideally, starting approximately 2 months before the scheduled moving date should give you ample time to interview several movers, to ask for estimates and to finally find a reliable moving company . Bear in mind that the summer months (April – September) are particularly hectic as far as movers are concerned, so plan your schedule accordingly.
  • Our office inventory is quite extensive, and there are many items to move. How can we ensure that the move is conducted efficiently and systematically?
Offices and places of business usually include many items. Moreover, a commercial move is also about personnel relocation. To make sure that the move goes by smoothly and quickly, with as little disruption as possible to your business, your professional commercial mover will employ the marking and tagging system.
After conducting on-site inspections of your offices, both at the old and new locations, and after thoroughly acquainting themselves with your premises, your NYC movers will assign color codes and numbers to all work areas, employees and office appliances. Corresponding labels will be placed in your new office, thereby facilitating the respective packing and packing processes. This system will enable your employees to locate their new work areas that much more quickly, allowing them to resume their work almost immediately.
  • Logistically speaking, how is the move coordinated between our company and our mover?
Since there are numerous details to take care of in a commercial move, it is always best to plan ahead. Several weeks before the scheduled move, your mover will conduct onsite inspections of your offices and meet with those staff members who are in charge of the move. These meetings will not only enable your movers to familiarize themselves with the premises and with the various items intended for shipping, but will also enable them to thoroughly explain the moving process to your office staff, to answer any questions which may come up, and to explain to your employees how they can help facilitate the moving process.
  • Are you equipped to pack and haul our diverse office equipment and supplies?
Commercial movers offer professional packing services, which provide maximum protection to all your office appliances. Indeed, computers and copying machines are but some examples of typical office equipment which should be handled with care. Your movers will disconnect and disassemble these and other items skillfully and professionally, taking great care that they are not damaged in any way. If you still have the original containers of your various appliances, your movers will be happy to use them. Otherwise, your electronic equipment will be packed safely within suitable moving boxes. All your offices supplies will be hauled in your mover's modern fleet of climate controlled vans.
  • How is the moving cost calculated?
Your commercial moving cost depends on several factors: to begin with, your movers must determine the extent of the move, and a detailed inventory specifying the various office items which are to be transported will allow them to do so. The number of movers and moving vans which are to be assigned to the moving job also affect the total cost, as do the services you require your mover to provide (packing, storage, etc.). Remember that whereas local moves are charged by an hourly rate, the cost of interstate and long distance moves is determined by the size and weight of your shipment.
  • Do you provide storage services, and can your storage facility hold such items as electronic office appliances?
Affiliated with local warehouses, we provide storage services for long or short term periods. The storage facilities are all equipped to contain even the most sensitive electronic appliances, as well as confidential business documents. Climate controlled and fire and water-resistant, all warehouses are protected by state-of-the-art security systems and by 24 hrs surveillance cameras.
  • Do you provide insurance?
The liability coverage we offer is set to meet your specific needs in the best possible way. Clearly, if your belongings require additional coverage, it is highly recommended that you purchase supplementary insurance from an insurance company which we will be happy to recommend. Remember that the insurance you acquire should cover your goods both while they are in transit and in storage.
